Even more Vienna

We start the day with breakfast

Then to the Hofburg Palace to see the Treasury, Imperial Apartments with stories of Sisi - the Empress Elizabeth
Everyday table settings

Special occasion settings - 4,000 pieces: gold for meat and fish, porcelain for soup, dessert and cheese,  cutlery for all possibilities
Folded napkins - Imperial size of 1 meter square

No photographs in the apartments - but many tales of the Empress' long hair

Lunch, jump on the 71 tram to the Botanical Gardens (one of our "aways do" if time allows)

Specialty of herbs and medicinal plants

Specimen trees - Giant California Redwood

And other flora
The gardens are under the jurisdiction of the Botany Department of the University of Vienna. (We've seen more impressive botanical gardens.)

The evening ended "at the ballet" - broadcast live to a large screen in front of the Opera House, where the performance was happening inside. We left well before the intermission!

Is anything left to see before we leave tomorrow noon?
