Tuesday - much more leisurely sightseeing

Yesterday we walked too much, so today we were determined to slow down.  One way was to use public transport, so we rode tram 24 from close to our hotel to our planned destination - Prague Jewish Town.  Then, with the aid of an audio guide we visited the most important landmarks.  Photography was not permitted inside the synagogues and other buildings, so this post is slim on pictures.
The Cerimonial Hall of the Jewish Burial Society

The old Jewish cemetery - crammed with thousands of gravestones

The Old-New Synagogue - one of the oldest in Europe

Each place was fascinating, but the most moving was the Pinkas Synagogue with the walls covered with the names of Holocaust victims from Prague.

In the afternoon we enjoyed the collection of Bohemian and other class at the Decorative Arts and Design Museum (again no photos).

Even though we journeyed by tram, we did our share of walking,

and spotted what I think was a mail box set into a wall - but I was n't sure enough to post postcards there!

Our evening entertainment was a string quartet/organ/soprano concert in one of the large churches  - a common occurrence in all the cities we've visited - obviously playing for the tourists (and the church coffers).  The program was Mozart, Bach, Dvorak, Smetna -- quite suitable of the locale!

A late night snack in the executive lounge ended our day.
